There comes a time every spring when the steele itch just
gets so darn scratchy that all you can possibly do to get at is to pull out the
old fly, blow off the dusk, look at her and say “You and I are gonna go teach
those fish a lesson.” It doesn’t always pan out that way, but a man must take that attitude when in search of steele. In fact, we all know that it usually goes then other direction, but after a long winter and a cabin fever temp of 105, a man can get delusional. SteelieZan and myself headed out to for a few days of chasing steele, not exactly chrome, but the next best thing. We were also able to get a Bates Alum, Gabe Plourde, to put down the good old med school books at Syracuse and charge up to the SR to enjoy a day on the water.
The trip started slow but we ended up getting 11 steele to the net and a 12 inch brown. Special thanks to Gabe for taking some incredible photos. Until next time.

11 Steele and still time for a nap. A typically steelie performance from the Winchell's.

Where is Siesta Steele when you needed him? Well done boys, digging a few out when there were few to be found
he probably took that nap because he got bored with such small ones.
