I digress, here is the idea. I'd like to propose what I hope will be one of many BFCa events in 2009, an Alumni Softball Game to be played in Boston (seems like middle-ground) between two teams of Rod Squad alums. I figure we'd set a cost per person that would cover field, two different colors of Rod Squad uniforms (obviously), coolers of beer, and then throw a party somewhere that night.
How does that sound to folks? Anyone in Boston have good ideas on where we could reserve a field that would allow us to drink beer?

I second such an endeavor. We could probably get Fenway, right? Maybe some guest-Managers?
Wow, fantastic idea Chet; count me in.
sick idea. depending on when and where, i would love to do this.
pete, what about that field in woods hole? we could party/stay at keith's and then fish the following day. would probably need keith's approval here.
I think this is a great idea and I would happily provide housing We would need to do late may or june though.
oh man, wicked idea old man. that field would surely work. its one hell of a long way out to left field, never seen a ball hit out there. the right field porch sits about 100 feet closer. beers have been drank and things of all sorts have been smoked on on those benches. i am living in a little spot in woods hole through the end of may, i believe, annd folks could stay here and in the cottage, a house in my yard which has no heat or electricity or running water at the moment, but its right down the road from the park and centrally located. the greatest fishing spot in the universe is just across the harbor...
