Cold Morning: Worth the Trip
It was cold this morning, damn cold. It almost stopped me when I could barely feel my hands, halfway suited up, but I continued on and rigged my 5 wt. for landlocked. Fly of choice, one from Mr. Robbins' book, a steelhead fly. If my rod could throw it, they would come.
It quickly became apparent that I would have to deice my guides every two or three casts. Frustrated, I kept throwing that big pink bastard. It was not long before I hooked into a beautiful landlocked, largest I have ever hooked or caught. Fishing solo, I had to net it myself, no small task when the fish out-sized my net, but alas, after a half net, half bear hug, I landed this beauty.

HOLY SHIT. That is an absolute monster. That is the biggest landlock I have ever seen. It looks the same size as a steele!!!
Well done man. I want to hear the complete story with details in the car tomorrow.

Nice friggin hook jaw, shit man, sweet trip and pics
SIIIIIIIICK. WHAT A PIG MAN!
Thanks for the heads up on that spot. I fish that area a ton and recognized the backdrop. Those look like they would be nice fish pre spawn. If the wind stays down tomorrow I may be back.
Yo Anonymous....your comment is rediculous, there is no backdrop in these pics for site recognition. We all recognize the root of your comments, despite your attempt to make a "passive comment". My suggestion to you is to chill out; we practice catch and release and crop all of our images to protect these special spots. If you or anyone recognizes a spot, its because you've been there before and therefore, to you, it is not a secret. Ease up...
You may practice catch and release but pulling a post spawn fish from the water and hugging him under your arm so you can get a hero shot is pretty weak.
As to showing no backdrop in these photo's your right. I should have posted that comment over on the video page. And yes I did recognize the backdrop from the video. By the way whoever took the video is trespassing.
