For the Birds

One of the many interesting phenomena I've seen offshore is the presence of desparately tired songbirds. Somehow these poor birds get blown offshore and can't find their way back to land. Without any solid ground to stop and rest on these birds are desparate for a place to land and often hitch a ride on trolling fishing boats. This little fellow in the picture hitched a ride on me. For a good five minutes he and I trolled Atlantis together, before he flew off.
